Having plenty of rendered deer tallow and enough bear oil to experiment with, I
decided to make a special lube to try with this rifle. I have been mixing and
using my own bear oil/bees wax blend for a few years now with good results and
figured why not? The deer tallow at room temp is similar to beeswax with an
oily texture.
I warmed both and poured each into a couple of 6 oz plastic bottles. On the
backs of these I have them marked at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4. I poured one of each bottle
into a cleaned coffee can and then another half bottle of bear oil for the amount
of, one and half bear oil, one deer tallow mix and let this sit. I found the
consistency to be about perfect and look forward to testing this out soon.
